A regional healthcare Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) heavily depended on technology to manage its network of more than 37,000 physicians, 300 hospitals and 1,900 healthcare facilities.
The organization held accreditation for core and health provider standards that promote and establish quality for the healthcare industry. But maintaining this accreditation required technology solutions that set a high benchmark for patient care.
When the organization began to experience server problems after its IT provider allowed Microsoft server licenses to expire, staff knew big challenges lay ahead. To make matters worse, the IT provider hadn’t contacted the PPO for more than a year.
