Insight’s Supply Chain Optimization solutions simplify the process of procuring, maintaining and replacing the technology clients invest in to run their business.
How can a cybersecurity company maintain a competitive advantage and run efficiently when its own technology isn’t operating at peak performance? That’s exactly the challenge a growing Software as a Service (SaaS) provider faced.
The cybersecurity, intelligence and communications technology company provides end-to-end services designed to increase cyber defense and extend collaboration across businesses and federal agencies.
Needed: One standardized solution
The company wanted to save money by writing its own in-house applications and standardizing its six worldwide data centers. But a hodgepodge of products from multiple vendors hampered the company’s ability to develop its own Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) software.
Without a uniform, easily repeatable system, the company faced inefficiencies and delayed time to market. The company needed a partner to overcome that obstacle.
After weighing competitive bids, the client chose Insight based on our in-depth experience, extensive resources and proven expertise. The level of engagement, intelligence, guidance and clear communication we provide also played a role in the decision.
Our Supply Chain Optimization team welcomed the challenge and recommended new hardware, software and warranties — a system that could be rolled out to all of the client’s data centers. The client required the solution to fit in a single rack and to be scalable and easily manageable. It also requested that all hardware be branded with its own logo.
Toward improved efficiency
We delivered a proof of concept for refreshing one of the client’s data centers with all Dell EMC servers, storage devices, networking equipment and software. The client approved the implementation of this major data center update.
Insight and Dell engineers worked closely with the client’s IT team to demonstrate the feasibility of the new strategy and served on-site as needed to expedite the process.
As a result of the successful proof-of-concept rollout, the client can now write its own software applications. Inefficiency has been eliminated, creating a more productive workplace.
Pleased with its one-rack solution that offers the scalability, cost efficiency and manageability it sought, the client looks forward to rolling out the solution across its other five data centers.
