Insight announcements Innovative Horizon AI Platform Earns Insight an IDC CIO Awards Canada 2026 Win

Reinforcing its status as a leader in AI, Insight has been named an IDC CIO Awards Canada 2026 winner. The award recognizes Insight’s level innovation in IT, specifically with respect to Horizon AI, a multi-model platform developed to drive internal experimentation with the emerging technology to improve organization-wide productivity.

To be recognized for having made groundbreaking achievements in IT, applicants had to demonstrate to International Data Corporation (IDC), a leading market intelligence company, a capacity for outstanding innovation and to deliver business value. According to a panel of IDC judges, Horizon AI — a scalable and cost-effective enterprise agentic AI platform that is securely governed by Insight’s information security team — met the criteria by enabling teammates to build AI agents to make their own and other teammates’ jobs easier.

Another goal of Horizon AI has been to accelerate in-house AI adoption. The initiative has helped 90% of Insight’s more than 14,000 teammates globally incorporate AI in their day-to-day work. Insight accomplished the increase in AI adoption by cost-effectively developing and deploying the platform internally as enterprise AI costs surge, with researchers estimating that agentic tasks use up 1,000 times more tokens than chat-style prompts.

One of the first organizations to implement Microsoft Azure OpenAI at the enterprise level in 2022, Insight deployed a private instance to give teammates secure access to it and other commercially available Large Language Models (LLMs) through API connections on a platform that evolved into Horizon AI. As an early adopter, Insight sought to pass on lessons learned with generative and agentic AI to clients as they integrate the technology now and plan for what’s next.

Insight will be recognized at the IDC CIO Summit & Awards Canada 2026 on Nov. 19, 2026, in Toronto, Ontario, alongside other winners. The awards gala is scheduled to follow the IDC CIO Summit Canada earlier that day, where IDC will host senior IT leaders from across the country to drive discussion and actionable strategies around modernization, resilience, and AI innovation.
