Microsoft Competencies: A Matter of Competitive Advantage

Industries all around are seeing technology innovations disrupt their businesses. And it’s up to tech professionals to guide companies as they adapt and adopt new technologies that will keep them in the game.

Large and medium-sized companies focus the most on disruption (74% and 75%, respectively), according to the recent whitepaper, "The Rise to Enterprise IT Revolution," which covers top concerns from tech decision-makers at enterprises. The report findings, conducted by third-party research company, Market Intel Group, also found 65% of tech influencers are concerned about disruption, as well as the source of it — 58% fear disruption from a direct competitor more than from outside their industry (47%).

Most wished for in cloud

Eight in 10 organizations will invest in some area of cloud services in 2016. First up is software as a service and security as a service. Next comes disaster recovery as a service and infrastructure as a service. These cloud solutions top the list in the whitepaper, “How Technology Is Disrupting Business As We Know It,” a bonus report to “The Rise to Enterprise IT Revolution.”

These reports also found many large companies — 67% — rate cloud as having the greatest impact. And more than half of medium-sized companies — 59% — flag it as a significant advancement as well.
