The UK government has reviewed the use of surveillance equipment produced by companies subject to China’s National Intelligence Law. In November 2022, the Cabinet Office instructed government departments to stop installing such surveillance equipment and in June 2023 issued a statement confirming that all Chinese surveillance equipment is to be removed from sensitive sites.

On the 13th September 2023 the House of Commons approved legislation to strip out Chinese surveillance equipment from sensitive government sites.
